My wife pioneered for over a decade, 90 honest hours a month, while holding a Job...
Seeing the dubs now sitting next to a cart, gossiping away while writing their easy hours is a complete joke.
observing our local unemployed pioneers and how long they take to get to their first or next call, usually taking the longest route to get to one they know won't be there anyway.
along the way it's gossipy this and that.
pioneers?

am i the only one who has single, desperate sisters in the congregation?
they tend to be holier-than-thou, frumpty, but in private talk about getting married.
but they don't understand why no brother will look at them.
Of course we can poke fun at "desperate sisters" - but in the end these persons are just CULT victims, stressed by the sexual repression the organization and its many Pharisee rules puts on them.
They have been denied the right to experiment and even have a severe guilt trip if they masturbate.
Seeing many around you at young age getting married and knowing that by 25 you will be viewed as an old maiden, does make one desperate.
Sad
the last article in this new wt, shows me that the organization is dealing with much information that is damaging them.
i am sure that the many recent lawsuits are being noticed by the r&f.. here are some gems from that article, titled the naive person believes every word.
we must be very selective about what we consider worthy of our attention.

We must be very selective about what we consider worthy of our attention. Especially could those who are new to the Internet conclude that a report or a news item, however strange or sensational, is true simply because it is online or because a friend sent it via e-mail.
It is also unwise to forward recordings or transcripts of Bible talks. Furthermore, forwarding research material, verses extracted for Bible study, or answers to use at congregation meetings would detract from the value of each individual’s personal preparation.
And what should you do if you find slanderous news about Jehovah’s organization on the Internet? Such material should be firmly rejected...Jesus, who was the object of false accusations, warned his followers that enemies would persecute them and “lyingly say every sort of wicked thing against [them].”
Above all, love refuses to believe malevolent insinuations about Jehovah’s organization or lies about our brothers that are circulated by people who are slaves to “the father of the lie,” Satan the Devil.
it seems incredibly difficult.
those who leave the org.
(or fade) no longer have anything in common with jehovah's witnesses, nor do they want to stick around to get radiated by the fear and guilt that saturates every aspect of a witnesses' life.. i've lost all but one of my jw friends quite simply because i can no longer condone the evil things that they condone.
My wife and I had been in the organization for over 30 years, she as a pioneer and I as a MS. We managed to fade, but lost every last JW friendship. Some dropped emails that they no longer considered us friends, and over course the rumor mill had a field day on us.
It was difficult at first, but in the past seven years we have made many new and improved friendships. We also reconnected with many ex-JWs who either left before, during or after our fade.
I recommend actively and patiently making new friends.
i was appointed as an elder when i turned 30, 25 years ago.
which was the norm back then.. now, i very rarely here of a young man becoming an elder.
in our town we have 2 english congregations.

Voluntary contributions are not so voluntary anymore. If as a true dub I pledge $100 and then loose my job, the society still thinks I owe them $1200 that year. More local needs on money, I think I prefer a collection plate.
since leaving the jws for some reason i have done a lot of research on the mormon faith as well.
i guess it's probably because i can see so many parallels between the 2 religions.
i just thought it was uncanny how the 2 religions both had significant events in their history happen in locations that are with in 1.5 hour drive from each other.
talked with a pioneer recently, she was recounting her first experience with cart witnessing.. she brought the subject up, was going on & on & on & on about how wonderful the experience was, and how great, and how she enjoyed it so much, and it was so wonderful, and oh jehovah's blessing, and on and on and on...... a few questions to her revealed what really happened:.
-- a jw who owns a small restaurant in a strip mall allows jws to set up their cart outside his restaurant.
-- the restaurant is tucked pretty far out of the way, not prominent at all.
Here is the form that needs to be completed and approved before you can be one of the 135000 cart guards:

during the wt session, the org admits that the actions of eldubs can cause an eventual shortage of "qualified " brothers, and it has.
they speak of a lack of teaching as the cause.
in reality, it's the legalism and control issues within the org itself that have caused a shortage of men who are willing to reach out.
How you describe Johnny is verbatim to me while I was in...
I had months of 20 hours, but with a busy work schedule and kids, also had months of 7-8 hours. Finally, when I managed to do 6 straight months of 10 hours or more, they commented that I with my job travel during the week, that I sometimes skipped weekday meetings, so was not recommendable.
Meanwhile two elders sons, who most likely forged their FS reports were appointed "elders" while still wet behind the ears.
So glad I'm out.

Interesting if you see the baptismal candidates here, they all appear to be adults. That cannot be said any longer.
